Two Years Later: How Many of Those 'Ad-Free Movie & TV Sites' Are Still Alive — A Full Re-test of 5 Sites

In September 2024, linux.do circulated 5 ad-free ultra-HD streaming sites. Two years later, each was re-tested: survival rate 2/5. An additional 55 sites were tested for a full ecosystem overview, with source tracing and survival analysis: 34 active, 8 partially dead, 13 fully dead. Includes a complete hyperlink table and the economics of content aggregation.

Survival rate: 2/5. Of the five “ad-free HD streaming sites” that circulated on linux.do in September 2024, retested one by one on September 24, 2026: akys.info is parked for sale, nivod.vip times out, fjvtw.com slams the door shut, and only bdys.me and duboku.tv still renew their TLS certificates on a quarterly cadence. The original post itself didn’t survive the autumn of 2024—it’s a September 6 snapshot from the Wayback Machine that preserved this list.

How This List Came About

In September 2024, a post appeared on the linux.do forum with a bold title, something along the lines of “Say no to ad-laden streaming sources—start with you.” The author, windec02, had a simple logic: most streaming sites’ sources contain ads because their采集 (content-scraping) sources are themselves free and monetize by injecting ads into the video; but ad-free HD采集 sources do exist—they just cost money. So if you want to dodge ads, look for sites that use paid, ad-free采集 sources.

The original post was just over five hundred words, followed by dozens of “thanks, boss” replies. The real incremental value was all in the thread: commenters依次 supplemented with bdys.me, nivod.vip, fjvtw.com, and duboku.tv, joining the author’s own “爱看影视” (akys.info) to make five sites in total.

The post itself didn’t live past that autumn. Archive.org’s crawl records show it was still anonymously accessible on September 6, 2024; by the September 17 snapshot it was already a 404—the disappearance happened sometime between the two, most likely deleted or set to private. Today, accessing that topic on linux.do directly—whether anonymously, with browser fingerprinting, or via proxy—shows “page does not exist or is not public.”

So the list retested here comes from a snapshot that’s two years old.

Testing Method

Five domains, three actions, all completed around 22:30 on September 24, 2026:

  1. Connectivity: curl_cffi impersonating Chrome’s TLS fingerprint to request the homepage, one round direct and one round via proxy, logging HTTP status codes and response byte counts;
  2. Certificate chain: openssl s_client connecting directly to port 443, verifying certificate subject, issuing authority, and validity period—a domain that’s alive but with an expired certificate versus one that renews quarterly are two entirely different kinds of “alive”;
  3. Content verification: For sites that responded, checking whether the returned page is a real site rather than a domain parking page or CDN interception page.

Judgment criteria: returning a real page or having a valid certificate recorded as “alive”; domain parked for sale recorded as “dead”; timeout or 403 recorded as “half-dead”—the data doesn’t warrant declaring it dead, but it can no longer be used as a streaming site.

Results: Two Years, Forty Percent

akys.infoAuthor’s own “爱看影视”DeadHTTP 200, but returns “This domain is for sale” parking page
nivod.vipRecommended in threadDeadTLS handshake completes then 0 bytes, 20-second timeout, consistent across two test rounds
fjvtw.com“金牌影院 (personal use)”Half-deadHTTP 403 Forbidden, server online but refusing service

duboku.tvRecommended in threadAliveLet’s Encrypt certificate issued 2026-09-18, valid until 12-17

Of the two “alive” sites, neither can be directly opened to watch shows. Both bdys.me and duboku.tv have their front pages wrapped in a JS challenge loop—the homepage redirects to an encrypted path, then bounces back, then redirects again. At the curl level, what you see is an infinite “Redirecting…”; whether a real browser can get through, and whether the sources are still the “ad-free HD” of 2024 vintage, was not verified this time. The one thing that can be confirmed: the operators of these two sites are still around, and they recently did maintenance.

Let’s Encrypt certificates rotate every 90 days. bdys.me’s certificate was issued the day before the retest (September 23), and duboku.tv’s was six days prior (September 18). For a free streaming site powered by passion and随时 liable to vanish overnight, the certificate issuance date is more honest than any “site admin notice”—it proves that within the past two weeks, someone completed a renewal operation on these two servers.

Bonus Test: A 55-Site Ecosystem Panorama

After the two-year retest results went out, I obtained a larger sample: another streaming site compilation circulating in the linux.do community, 55 sites across six categories, with each row annotated with the “contributing forum member” ID—who contributed which site, all at a glance.

This list is itself an ecosystem cross-section: 25 general streaming sites, 17 anime sites, 8 popular streaming sites, 3 live-streaming sites, and 1 each for Korean and American dramas. Three names on the list look awfully familiar—“诗桃”, “KwokY”, and “中国联通集团”—all of whom were恰好 contributors in the 2024 original thread. The same batch of IDs that were sharing sites in the thread two years ago are still curating compilations two years later: this community’s core contributors have an active lifespan far exceeding that of any individual site.

Site names are just labels; to probe liveness, you need real domains. I traced all 55 site names one by one: 21 directly matched entries in linux.do’s “streaming site sharing mega-collection” post (topic/434836, maintained by Rain88, updated 2025-12-30, containing a 248-site domain table); the rest were reverse-looked-up via navigation sites and search engines. All 55 sites were ultimately mapped to real domains, and over two nights (September 24–25) I ran the same liveness probe suite (curl_cffi Chrome fingerprint + TLS certificate verification + 4 retry fallbacks). Results: 34 alive, 8 challenge-layer/half-dead, 13 dead.

A few worth singling out:

金牌影院 has burned through three domains in three years—when recommended in 2024 it was fjvtw.com, now 403; a navigation site later pointed to dx911.cn, where even the TLS handshake couldn’t complete; now Rain88’s table lists 6umkq9b.com, which loads fine. The same brand keeps moving house under the pressure of domain blacklists—the site name and brand are the stable assets; domains are consumables. 独播库 is the same story: after duboku.tv put up a challenge layer, its current main domain is dnvods.com.

Rain88’s table is itself a survivorship bias filter. The sites repeatedly cataloged in that 248-site mega-table (独播库, 素白白, 4K影视, NO视频) are the ones the community has voted, over two years, as “the long-lived ones.” But the table also contains plenty of uncleaned dead entries—NO视频 and 美剧天堂 are still listed but have actually shut down. The speed at which dead links are cleaned from a compilation post can never keep up with the speed at which sites die.

Another contrast: E站弹幕网 (ezdmw.site) renewed its certificate on September 19 and its homepage loads completely—this site injects B站 弹幕 into pirated sources, an operational model more complex than a typical采集 site, yet it survives quite steadily. 爱壹帆 goes further with multi-domain redundancy (yfvod.com fully functional, iyf.tv behind a challenge layer, iyf.lv discontinued)—a textbook multi-entrance redundancy architecture.

The Economics of采集 Sources: Why Ads Are Immortal

Those five links died within two years, but the original post’s opening economic analysis has stood the test of time. Let me expand on it:

Streaming site ads come in two layers: on the page and in the source. Page ads are banners and pop-ups; an ad blocker cuts them away at near-zero cost. In-source ads are ads spliced into the video stream itself—mid-playback, a pre-roll or mid-roll ad gets inserted, and blockers are powerless against it because it lives in the same stream as the content.

Free采集接口’s business model is selling in-source ad slots: the interface charges nothing, but the m3u8 it returns carries ad segments. The streaming site operator gets sources at zero cost, and the price is paid by viewers watching ads on their behalf. Paid采集接口 charge an annual fee and provide ad-free HD sources—the operator pays, the audience gets a free ride.

The original poster’s stance had an additional layer: for on-page ads, he advised not blocking them, to leave the site operator a lifeline. In his words, disable your blocker or add a whitelist, so the site can “live a bit longer.”

This explains why sixty percent of these sites died within two years: they are free services stacked on top of someone else’s free service stack. When the采集 source changes its interface, a copyright complaint hits, a domain gets blocked, or the operator loses interest—any single link breaking snaps the whole chain. Sites like bdys.me that survived two years most likely sustained themselves through paid采集 sources (or self-maintained libraries) and have long maintained an anti-crawler JS challenge layer—the latter being exactly why they’re now indifferent to curl. As for whether the domain is still the original one, or how many times it’s been swapped over two years, there’s no way to trace.

Want to Build Your Own? Do the Math First

Every time a post like this gains traction, the comments section fills with “maybe I should self-host.” The two-year retest data is right here—before you start, calculate:

Source costs. Ad-free HD采集 sources are paid; for personal sites, the typical price range is a few hundred to over a thousand yuan per year. If you try to freeload, the source ads come right back, and you’re back to square one.

Operational costs. TLS certificates renew every 90 days, domains get blocked and need swapping, and JS challenge layers need ongoing maintenance. duboku.tv’s challenge path has most likely gone through several generations over two years—this round of testing saw .IGV0hOcNusVJOgqoD1HuWTk0PssdueKB as the current iteration; what it looked like two years ago is不可考.

Legal costs. This is the heaviest line item, and the reason this article provides no setup tutorials whatsoever. Under the 2026 copyright enforcement environment, aggregated streaming sites occupy an explicitly illegal zone domestically; the site operator’s personal risk correlates directly with the site’s longevity. The original poster’s approach of “share something else when this one dies” is essentially using constant relocation to hedge that risk.

Reproduction Steps

If you want to give the same health checkup to a “killer site list” two years from now, four commands are all you need:

# 1. Grab the snapshot (if the post is dead, look for CDX records on web.archive.org)
curl "http://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx?url=linux.do/t/topic/197934&output=json"

# 2. Probe each site (Chrome fingerprint, to defeat basic TLS fingerprint blocking)
python3 -c "from curl_cffi import requests; \
print(requests.get('https://bdys.me', impersonate='chrome', verify=False).status_code)"

# 3. Certificate verification (issuance date = the last time the operator did work)
echo | openssl s_client -connect bdys.me:443 -servername bdys.me 2>/dev/null \
  | openssl x509 -noout -subject -dates

# 4. Parking page detection (domain still resolves but the lights are off)
curl -s https://www.akys.info | grep -c "domain is for sale"

Epilogue

The original poster said, “when these expire, I’ll share new ones with the community.” Two years on, his main site akys.info is parked with a sale page, the original post is deleted, and the promise remains unfulfilled—but duboku.tv, contributed by a thread commenter, renewed its certificate yesterday.

Lists die. Renewals don’t.
